Take Sly Park
Road south to Sly Park entrance (Jenkinsen Lake) on the left.
Follow the park
road to the Scout Hill road on the left, 1/4 mile before the
Pine Cone campground.

From the Hwy50/Shingle Springs
Interchange:
Travel 2.8 mi (south) down South Shingle to Old Ox Road (turn
left).
Old Ox road has stone entrance walls and is on (east) left side
of S. Shingle.
On Old Ox, go to the 2nd home on right 3810 Old Ox.
(Look for white 3 rail fence, long driveway, home on hilltop).
Park along right side of driveway....so as to leave room for
folks to use turn-about at driveway end to depart later.

Echo
Lake Sno-Park
There are two Sno Parks near the
top of highway 50 – Echo Lake and Echo Summit. Echo Lake is on
the left and Echo Summit is on the right further up the hill.
Echo Lake has a flat snow play area. Echo Summit has an (injury
prone) sledding hill. Winter Fun Day is at the Echo Lake Sno
Park on the left. Look for the Pack 117 sign as the entrance to
the Echo Lake Sno Park is not well marked.
Use of the Sno Park requires $5
Sno Park permit for each car. The permits are available at the
market in Strawberry which is on the left about half way up the
hill. The permits are also available at the Echo Summit Sno
Park.

From
Kyburz on Highway 50, go east 5 miles to
Wrights Lake
Road
. Turn left
(north) and go 8 miles to the camp ground. There are trails on
both sides of the lake. There are two trailhead parking areas
here for hikers going into the Desolation Wilderness; Rockbound
parking area and
Twin
Lakes
parking area.
